Marc Overton is Vice President of Strategy and Business Performance for Orange UK. He has responsibility for developing a single multi-play vision and business strategy across both Orange UK and sister company Wanadoo UK.
Prior to his role at Orange, he was Managing Director of Strategy Products and Services at Wanadoo, reporting to CEO Eric Abensur. He was responsible for leading the company’s progression from an ISP to a multi-media services company, doubling the broadband base and launching the first and now largest phone-to-phone VoIP service in the UK. He also helped drive the convergence programme with Orange and develop other Broadband services including TV over DSL. Marc was recruited to Wanadoo from Hutchison 3G (3) where he was Director of Products and Services. Marc joined 3 at its inception, and was responsible for launching 3’s 3G services (video content and communications) across eight countries, taking the products from the drawing board through to profitable delivery. Prior to joining 3, Marc oversaw the launch of Carphone Warehouse’s wireless portal (Mviva) across Europe. He has also held positions at the Daily Mail General Trust (DMGT) and then joined Yellow Pages to run Talking Pages and Business Pages. |
